Wisdom Bestows Well-Being

Trust in the Lord Prov3 5_6

Proverbs 3

Wisdom Bestows Well-Being

My son, do not forget my teaching,
    but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
    and bring you peace and prosperity.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
    bind them around your neck,
    write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
    in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.[a]

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
    fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
    and nourishment to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your wealth,
    with the first fruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
    and your vats will brim over with new wine.

11 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline,
    and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
    as a father the son he delights in.[b]

13 Blessed are those who find wisdom,
    those who gain understanding,
14 for she is more profitable than silver
    and yields better returns than gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies;
    nothing you desire can compare with her.
16 Long life is in her right hand;
    in her left hand are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are pleasant ways,
    and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her;
    those who hold her fast will be blessed.

19 By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations,
    by understanding he set the heavens in place;
20 by his knowledge the watery depths were divided,
    and the clouds let drop the dew.

21 My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight,
    preserve sound judgment and discretion;
22 they will be life for you,
    an ornament to grace your neck.
23 Then you will go on your way in safety,
    and your foot will not stumble.
24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
    when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25 Have no fear of sudden disaster
    or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
26 for the Lord will be at your side
    and will keep your foot from being snared.

27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
    when it is in your power to act.
28 Do not say to your neighbor,
    “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you”—
    when you already have it with you.
29 Do not plot harm against your neighbor,
    who lives trustfully near you.
30 Do not accuse anyone for no reason—
    when they have done you no harm.

31 Do not envy the violent
    or choose any of their ways.

32 For the Lord detests the perverse
    but takes the upright into his confidence.
33 The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked,
    but he blesses the home of the righteous.
34 He mocks proud mockers
    but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.
35 The wise inherit honor,
    but fools get only shame.

God gives us what we NEED

Bible-Quotes-Scripture-Verses-passages-on-MarriageMy husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary August 18, 2013.  So many memories of our special day.  Surrounded by our family and friends.  I even put on my wedding dress.  My husband teared up and we embraced.  We both have been through so much together.  Our marriage has not always been easy.  We have endured some difficult times and the enemy has battled to rip this marriage apart.  Seems the closer we get and the more we learn about each other the more the enemy comes at us.

Even in the moments I just wanted to give up I am thankful that the Lord gave me the strength not to.  The divorce rate is so high in the world today.  You have programs on television encouraging multiple partners, open marriages.  The true meaning of what God intended for marriage has been twisted to satisfy own self desire.

Hebrews 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

The enemy has surrounded us with temptation.  But as Christians we need to seek the wisdom of Gods word and put on the Armor of God so that we can battle the enemy.  If you are putting yourself in situations that bring temptation to you then it needs to be removed.  Part of truly loving our spouse as God desires us to is learning we need to first love God.  He must come first.

When we get married it’s not about changing the other person to what you FEEL they need to be.  We need to remember that God chose our partner.  It may not always be at times what we FEEL we wanted but it’s about what God felt we needed.  Even in those dark times our marriage has endured I needed to realize that walking away from my marriage is not an option.  I have failed in my marriage also it was not just one sided.  Was I treating my husband in the manner God intended? NO not always.  When I have sinned in unrighteous anger did God walk away from me? NO but I had to repent and change my ways.  So it didn’t give me grounds to walk away.  Learning to understand that in a marriage it is not about who is right or who is wrong it is respecting each others views. Marriage is not a score card.  We are to show respect, love, honor to each other.

Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

I vowed before God, family and friends till death do us part.  I took my vows very seriously and still do.  Nothing in my marriage that has ever happened justifies walking away from a man that God chose for me. Loving our spouse is learning to fall in love with them more each day as we do our Heavenly Father.  I love my husband and am truly blessed.  I look forward to sharing many more anniversaries together.

Our wedding song 🙂
